They did this by re-classifying broadband as an &#8220;information service&#8221;, which was ruled not to be subject to line-sharing.<br \/>\nIn the words of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lightreading.com\/document.asp?doc_id=78593&#038;WT.svl=news1_1\">Light reading<\/a>  the FCC ruled that the physical facilities that deliver broadband, and the broadband service itself are indistinguishable and inseparable.
